Samuel "Sam" M. Morlock, age 72, of Lowell, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
He was born on October 17, 1949, in Reed City, to Milton & Dorothy (Leinwebber) Morlock. Sam married Betty R. Renfrow on June 14, 1975. Sam proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a setup mechanic for Amway until retirement. Sam enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, planting trees and going to the casino as well as volunteering at the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and being a Victim Advocate Volunteer for the Kent County Sheriff's Department for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Morlock; daughter, Jamie (Ryan) Watrous; grandchildren, Tyler Morlock, Denver VanBeek, Kyle Myers and Zach Watrous; great-grandson, Kinsler Morlock; great-granddaughter, Silvia VanBeek; sister, Sue (Lance) Morlock; and special nice, Jacqueline Gray.
He is preceded in death by his son, Steve M. Morlock; parents, Milton & Dorothy; sister, Linda Langworthy; and in-laws, Ralph & Arlene Renfro
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, February 18, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 2275 W. Main Street, Lowell. Visitation will continue at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the church with a Memorial Service being held at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in the spring.
