Samuel Griffin, age 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
The son of Washington & Core (Furnches) Griffin, he was born on February 25, 1931 in Ruville, Mississippi. Samuel was a proud U.S. Army veteran.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Ave NE, Grand Rapids, with a visitation starting one hour prior.

Interment will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill.
Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
