Samera Hilwa

Samera Hilwa, age 82, went to be with her Lord and savior on Thanksgiving Day Thursday, November 26, 2020. She was born on October 1, 1938 in Mosul, Iraq to Nasir Hilwa and Khairiya Dawood. Samera was kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. After graduating from college, she worked as a dean secretary until she retired, she loved and enjoyed her job, she also enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crochet, and she enjoyed decorating and designing her house. She had elegant and artistic taste as she loved art. She loved and cared for her family and loved Jesus with all her heart. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Mumtaz Sara, her daughter Joy (Joe) Aboosh, grandchildren Nancy and Michael Aboosh, her brothers Adnan (Sonia) Hilwa, Talal Hilwa, sisters Jermen Hilwa, and Haifa Hilwa. Samera is proceeded in death by her parents Nasir Hilwa and Khairiya Dawood, her brothers Emad Hilwa and Awni Hilwa. Samera will be always remembered and will be dearly missed. A graveside service will be held on December 3rd, 2020 at 11:00 am in Georgetown Cemetery at 6921 28th Avenue, MI 49426 Burial arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 616-452-3006.
