Sally Mccambridge

Sally Furniss McCambridge, age 66, of Rockford, formerly of Traverse City, passed away Monday morning, May 23, 2022 at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Louis & Geraldine (Hornig) Furniss, she was born on October 30, 1955 in Grand Rapids. Sally attended Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley University. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and started her own accounting business called Time Tenders and her own flower delivery company at Munson Hospital. Above all, her greatest love was spending time with her family and being a proud Mema to her grandchildren. She married Thomas Bart McCambridge on September 8, 1978, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Together they raised three children and enjoyed 34 years o f marriage until Thomas passed away on February 20, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Geraldine Furniss and her brother Steve Furniss. Surviving are her children, Carrie and Brad Smith of Augusta, Michigan, Jeffrey McCambridge of Athens, Ohio, Scott and Emily McCambridge of Fremont, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Gabe Smith, Theo Smith, Henry Smith, Annabelle Smith, Andrew (and fiancee Sammy) Smith, Alex Smith, Michelle Smith, Josh Priem; brothers and sisters, Susie and Bill Griswold of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sarah and Ken Bolter of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Mary Furniss of Grand Rapids, Michigan; mother-in-law, Loretta McCambridge of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and several extended family members including her loving nieces and nephews. A celebration of life party is being planned by her family and will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, donations will support the Rogel Cancer Center Multiple Myeloma Gift Fund at the University of Michigan. Checks may be made to "University of Michigan" and sent to 777 E.
