Salena Knight

November 18, 1976 — May 24, 2023

Salena Rae Knight, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Harold English and Margaret Knight. Salena's nurturing spirit shined brightest in her role as mother. She adored her six children; Alayah Thomas-Knight, Alijah Knight, Tyrone Cole, Taelyn Cole, Tristan Knight-Cole, and Tobyn Cole. Being a mom was her greatest joy! She poured her love and patience into their lives. She cherished her time with her children and found solace in the warmth of her home, which was her favorite place to be. In the early 2000's, Salena's life took a profound turn when he gave her heart to Jesus during a study with her dear friend Ruth. While she wanted to increase her commitment to church, her commitment to Jesus and confidence that she would spend eternity with the Lord, never waivered, which was a strength and comfort to herself and her family in her last days. Salena had a way of brightening any room she entered. Her quick wit made her easy to like and laugh with, but so did her reputation as a peacemaker. She was able to diffuse tension and give comfort to people who were hurting. Salena had a passion for food. She loved to cook and go out to eat. She had a sweet tooth and it was no secret that she loved chocolate. Somehow, that love transformed into a fondness for sour gummies. She also couldn't resist her guilty pleasure of pineapples, strawberries, watermelon, ice cream, and lemons. Salena had a love for fashion and clothes. She would never throw anything away, always finding a way to mix and match her wardrobe to create unique and stylish outfits. Her creativity and eye for fashion were a reflection of her vibrant personality. Salena was brought home to be with the Lord in the early hours of May 24th. With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of a remarkably caring woman whose infectious laugh and selflessness touched many. While Salena's suffering is gratefully over, the pain of her departure leaves many with the difficult responsibility of grieving her loss. Salena will be deeply missed by her sisters and brothers, Leandra, Amanda, Bobby, Penny, Tony, Darren, Kevin, Mark, Latetia, and Tyrell, as she joins her brother Billy and sister Debbie in Paradise with Jesus. May she find eternal peace in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Service will be held at the Ada Bible's East Paris Campus in The Warehouse (4200 E. Hills Crt. Grand Rapids, Mi 49546) on Monday June 5th. Visitation is from 10:30 to 11:30am, with service at 11:30. Pastor Gary E Hankins is presiding. Children are welcome.
