Ruthie Alcala

Ruthie Lorraine Alcala, age 46, of Sheridan, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Ruth Lorraine (Leonard) and Terry Brown, she was born on March 6, 1971 in Ionia. Ruthie spent most of her working years as a sales associate with Meijer and later Toys R Us. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bobby Alcala; and a brother, Scott Alcala. Surviving are her son, Jeff Alcala; her grandson, Brayden Alcala; her parents, Terry & Ruth Brown; a very special niece, Kiera Hickerson; many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Ruthie's life with them from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at her parents' home, 4174 S. Miles Road, Sheridan.
