Ruth Drury

Mrs. Ruth Louise Drury, age 93, of Greenville, formerly of Alma and Naples, Florida, passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2005 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. The daughter of Daniel & Carrie L. (Cunningham) Dickinson, she was born on May 8, 1912 in Stanton. After graduating high school, Ruth attended Alma College and earned her teaching degree. She married Carl Ward Drury on Jan. 4, 1938 in Alma and taught briefly until starting her family. A devoted wife and mother, Ruth also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was a fantastic cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl W. Drury; seven brothers and sisters, Blanche Rabus, Lena Bragg, Francis Highfield, William Dickinson, Dale Dickinson, Charles Dickinson, and Warren Dickinson. Surviving her with loving memories are three children, Martha L. & Jim Lynett of West Branch, Carla R. Bice of Greenville, and John W. & Beth Drury of Pinckney; a sister, Betty Pegler of Alma; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. The Rev. Jerry Jones, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate. Honoring Ruths wishes, cremation has already taken place.
