Ruth Cain

December 19, 1941 — September 14, 2021

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalms 116:15 Ruth Ann Cain was born December 19, 1941, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Florence (Rector) Waldahl and her only sibling, Norma Jean only a few short months ago. Ruth is survived by her children, Jeannette (Howard) Allen, David (Shelley) Baker, and Jaired (Staci) Cain; grandchildren, Cody (Sarah) Allen, Ciarra (Matt) Poferl, Derrik Wurst, and Kyle and Kenna Baker; and her first great-grandchild, Jude. Ruth, known as "Tan" by her family and "Miz Ruth" by many, was known for her passion for the word of God! She lived her life daily according to her strong beliefs in the bible. She was known as a kind, caring woman who had a heart for children, teaching Sunday school for many, many years. Ruth loved to travel and had been to Norway twice to visit relatives and her lifelong goal to travel to Israel and tour the holy land! She also traveled cross country to visit relatives in Oregon and several trips to the U.P. to visit family as well. She was an extremely dedicated grandmother with special relationships with each and every one of her grand children. We will make sure that Jude grows up with many, many stories of his great-grandmother. Ruth loved many things, such as lighthouses, snapshots, snow globes, and everything Christmas! Her house was always decorated for every season and smothered with snapshots of everyone she loved. Ruth also had special bonds with her pets, Tanner, Shelby, Precious, and Ebony whom she spoiled rotten. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, 616-452-3006. The son went to his mother. He picked her up and rocker her back and forth, and back and forth and back and forth.
