Obituary

Russell “Russ” Stacy, 62, of St. Johns, Michigan passed away peacefully in his sleep at The Laurels of Fulton near Perrinton, Michigan, on Monday, August 24,2026. The son of Holly June & Jimmy Ray Stacy, Sr. he was born on June 5, 1964 in Richlands, Virginia.

Russell was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Ray Stacy and his mother Holly June Stacy Havens. He was also preceded in death by one unborn niece or nephew. Russell is also preceded in death by a very close and special friend, Jeff Cook, who Russ loved very much and saw a brother.

Russell lived a long life of making people laugh and leaving an imprint on people he met. Russ was the type of person to give you the shirt off of his back and was very openly opinionated and to anyone who knew him loved that about him. He was an awesome son, brother, uncle, and friend. To those who are left to remember Russ he will be remembered as the one person to always tell it the way it was and he was glad to be that way as was we to have him that way.

Left to cherish Russell’s memory are his son, Gideon; a brother and his wife, Jimmy Ray “Big Jim” & Donna Stacy, Jr.; his nephews, Jimmy “Lj” & Hannah Stacy, and Jamel & Katie Cole; nieces, Deborah Ann & Alan Tibbs, and Kristina & Mike Brown; special former sisters-in-law and friends, Jamie & Lee Woody, and Macie & Billy Sheets. He also leaves behind five great-nieces, Ayryannah Comer, Danielle Comer Octayvia Comer, Rhayvin Brown , and Aubrey Brown; two great-nephews, A.J. Tibbs and Joseph Comer; special friend and “brother”, Kevin Cook, to cherish his memories of years of friendship; as well as his former wife, Marie, who he loved very much.

Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and Russell will be laid to rest with his Mom and Dad at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. 

A very special honorable mention to Laurels of Fulton for the care they provided to him and his family in his days of need the family thanks you for everything you did, and for making his last days easy for him.

Instead of flowers, contributions to the funeral home to help the family with Russell’s expenses would be appreciated.
