Russell Dubuis

September 12, 1938 — December 17, 2015

Russell L. DuBuis, age 77, of Wyoming, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at his home under the loving care of his family and Faith Hospice. The son of John & Ferna DuBuis, he was born on Sept. 12, 1938 in Grand Rapids and earned his Associate's Degree from Davenport. On June 24, 1961 he married Carolyn Stephan and together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage, raised two sons, and had owned and operated the former Beltline Motel on 28th Street. Russell was a founding member of the Advisory Center for Teens and also volunteered his time with Wyoming Public Schools, the Grand Rapids Symphony, and the Circle Theater. He belonged to a cribbage club, and in his younger years loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John DuBuis. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn DuBuis of Wyoming; two sons, Michael (Melissa) DuBuis of Jenison, and Brian (Kathy) DuBuis of Grant; five grandchildren, Marc, Matthew, Nicholas, Michelle, and Moraine; siblings-in-law, Steven (Louise) Stephan of Virginia, and Joan DuBuis of Grand Rapids. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26th at Wesley Park United Methodist Church, 1150 32nd Street SW, Wyoming, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rev. Dean N. Prentiss will officiate and a time of food and fellowship will follow the ceremony.
