Rosie Zendejas

Rosie Jane Zendejas, age 67, of Lake Odessa, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. The daughter of Joe Mario & Maria (Gonzales) Vela, she was born on August 31, 1954 Rosie married Jose Nabejar Zendejas in 1970 and together they raised two children and enjoyed 22 years of marriage until Jose passed away on February 17, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Norma Salazar, Marylou Martinez, and Linda Salazar. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rosie was a kind, loving, woman of faith and always put others first. She spent most of her time with her children, grandchildren, her favorite dog Tito, and many family and friends whenever possible. She enjoyed music -- especially oldies. Family and friends were the most important to Rosie... when she loved you, she loved you forever. Surviving are daughter, Dora Zendejas of Lansing; son, John M. Zendejas and his fiance, Colleen Erickson, of Lyons; former son-in-law, Mario Lara; former daughter-in-law, Monica Zendejas; grandchildren: Jesus Lara, Leticia Zendejas, Miguel lara, Rolando Zendejas, Ramon Brooks, Marquise Zendejas, Tomas Lara Mario Lara ,Jr., Rosa Gloria Zendejas, Juan Jose Zendejas, Jesus "Chuy" Zendejas; and many great-grandchildren. Also are surviving are a sister, Irma Galaviz; four brothers, Jose Vela, Jr., Ruben Vela, Johnny Vela, and Frank Vela; many beloved in-laws; and several nieces and nephews.
