Rose Marie McGrath, age 68, of Haslett, Michigan, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026 at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. The daughter of Bernard Sheppard and Delores (Litke) & Paul Fenton, she was born on March 26, 1958 in Lansing, Michigan and attended Eastern High School.

Rose worked as a sorter for the United States Postal Service for several years, and more recently in home health care. She enjoyed thrift store shopping (a little too much!), hanging with the girls, listening to local bands, and car shows. Rose took being Grandma and Gigi to heart, showing her love the best she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Cathy Hardenburgh;  and two brothers, Joseph Sheppard and Paul Michels, who both passed in March of this year.

Surviving are her children, Patrick McGrath of Lansing, and Casey & Derrick Ruiz of Haslett; step-children, Nicole Noonon and Joshua & Janna Clifford; grandchildren, Hunter, Dillion and Spencer McGrath, Jacob (Karrissa), Jarrod and Justin Cornell, Allison, Jessie (Tyler), Jonathan (Lauren) and Amber Ruiz; great-grandchildren, Meliyah, Emery, Georgia, Aubree, Lyla, Adalynn, Daniel, Matthias and Amelia; a sister, Lulu Bignall; a brother, Michael & Amy Fenton; a sister-in-law, Sharon Sheppard; and several nieces and nephews.

The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Rose’s life from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Dewitt Township Community Center, 16101 Brook Road, Lansing, Michigan, 48906.
