Rosa Elizabeth Bennett, age 97, of Dickerson Lake, Stanton, passed away Monday evening, September 23, 2024 at her home under the loving care of her family and Corewell Health Hospice. One of ten children, Rosa was born on September 15, 1927, in Hamburg, Iowa and on October 11, 1964, in Greenville, she married Larry Lee Bennett. Together they raised five children, and owned and operated Leapin’ Larry’s mobile home store in Greenville. On October 11th, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage. Rosa was a devoted wife and mother and will long be remembered for her wonderful cooking and meticulous housekeeping… having been affectionately called “Mrs. Clean” amongst the family. She enjoyed gardening and canning, spending winters in Homosassa, Florida, spoiling her faithful canine companion, Molly, but most of all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha (Clayton) Nash; nine brothers and sisters, Madeline Roberts, June Craver, Melvin Nash, Dona Avery, Steve Nash, Roy Nash, Wayne Nash, Kenneth Nash, and Dan Nash; a son-in-law, Kenneth Larsen; and a grandson, Arthur Byington, Jr. Surviving are her husband, Larry Bennett of Stanton; their children, Melvin Byington & Pam Russell of Greenville, Linda Larsen of Stanton, Arthur & Cindy Byington of Greenville, Rick Byington of Greenville, and Cindy & Bob Wilcox of Melbourne, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Bennett of Greenville and Leo “Buster” & Kathy Bennett of Adrian; and many, many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Cornerstone Worship Center, 9190 E Howard City-Edmore Road (M-46), Vestaburg. Pastor Don Wolf will officiate and a time of food and fellowship will follow the ceremony.
