Ronald Raymond Larson, age 74, of Norton Shores, Marco Island, Florida, and Oak Lawn, Illinois, passed away at his home on Sunday evening, August 7, 2011. Survived by his loving wife, Shirley Vallier Larson; sons, Brian (Sue); grandchildren, Bryan and Alyssa of Plainfield, IL, Scott (Marsha), grandson Randall of Crystal Lake, IL, Barry (Gail), granddaughters Amanda and Makaila of Tinley Park IL; brother, Roy (Eileen) of Fort Meyers, FL; step children, Shelley (Mike) Lawie, Louann (George) Husted, and David (Shawn) Vallier and their families. Ron was a real estate broker and had a 30 year career in public service. He held elected positions as Mayor of Merrionette Park, IL, Supervisor of Worth Township, Republican Committeeman of Worth Township, and Cook County Commissioner. He also served in various Gubernatorial appointed positions. He served as a Warrant Officer of the United States Army. Was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Grand Haven Eagles, Grand Haven Elks, Muskegon Polish Falcon, Muskegon Polish Union, and Member of Marco Island, FL Smokehouse Bay Club - Board of Directors. Services for Ron will be held privately. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: Harbor Hospice, 1050 W. Western Ave. Suite 400, Muskegon, MI 49441. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, Grand Rapids.
