Ronald Joseph High, age 85, of Burgess Lake, Greenville, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at StoryPoint-Rockford under the loving care of his family and Kindred Hospice. The son of Joseph Jewel & Rebecca (Rodgers) High, he was born on February 22, 1934 in Lansing and was a proud veteran of the Korean war era, serving with the United States Army. After his discharge, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Michigan State University and worked as a certified public accountant in the manufacturing field, first for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio and retired from Rapistan (now Siemens Dematic). An avid outdoorsman and hunter, he retired to the cottage his parents built at Burgess Lake and was a longtime member of the Flat River Conservation Club, Pheasants Forever, and Ducks Unlimited. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald High; and a grandson-in-law, Darren Player. Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca & Michael Conroy of Grand Rapids, Mary & Jack Breese of Oklahoma, and Laura High of Texas; a step-son, Ken & Marci Myers; five grandchildren, Hillary Conroy, Kevyn Fanara, Marshall Conroy, Maddelyn & Jack Rosewall, and Aaron Conroy; eight great-grandchildren, Kylie Conroy, Ashton Fanara, Tyler Conroy, Helen Player, Gideon Player, Trentin Conroy, Owen Fanara, and Lucius Player; two nieces, Rita Moon and Julie High; a nephew, Mark High; and special friend, Rick Snow.
