Ronald Brown

Ronald Richard Brown, age 87, of Greenville, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The son of Samuel & Beatrice Beverly (Olger) Brown, he was born on January 7, 1932 in Greenville. A proud veteran of the United States Army, after his discharge Ronald continued to serve in the Michigan National Guard. On September 9, 1950, in Ionia, he married Lucienna Mae McCusker and together they raised four daughters and enjoyed over 68 years of marriage. Ronald retired from the former Electrolux Home Products and then worked at Lazy-Boy as service manager. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Brown; his mother, Beatrice Costen; his step-father, Murn Costen; two brothers, Thomas Brown and Robert Brown; a step-sister, Joellen Costen; a grandson, Jason Marc Hansen; and an infant great-granddaughter, Alexi Nicole. Surviving are his wife, Lucy Brown of Greenville; their daughters, Kerry Hillman of Gowen, Sherry Taylor of Mishawaka, Indiana, Pam & Al Gender of Greenville, and Pat & Phil Hansen of Greenville; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Jean Brown of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews. Honoring his wishes, no services will be held and burial will take place at Eureka Township Cemetery at a later time.
