Roland Niess

Roland R. Niess, age 68 passed away quietly on October 8, 2013 after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, he served in Southeast Asia with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion for many years. He enjoyed Photograpy and Fishing. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Niess of Grand Rapids, and a brother, Bryan Niess Sr. of Glen Arbor, MI. Also surviving are a niece, Ashley Wolfe of Cedar Springs MI, and a nephew, Bryan Niess Jr. of Lake Ann, MI. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
