Rodney Carl Kogler, Sr.

Rodney Carl Kogler, Sr. age 65, of Greenville, Michigan, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025 following a motorcycle accident. The son of Richard Bruce & Rose Alice (Stratz) Kogler, he was born on August 11, 1959 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and following his honorable discharge from active duty service he continued to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. A skilled tradesman, Rodney was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 7 in Grand Rapids. He was always there to help anyone and was one of the hardest working men you will ever meet. He loved riding his motorcycle and loved his country classic music. On August 11, 1980, in Byron Center, he married Jean Marie Seelye and together they enjoyed almost 45 years of marriage. Rodney and Jean were reunited when Jean passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Kogler; a son, Carl William Kogler; and a grandson, Tyrese Kogler. Surviving are his mother, Rose Kogler; his children, Maria & Robert Moser of Greenville, Rodney C. Kogler, Jr. of Greenville, and Bobbiejo & Eli Sitzema of Howard City; five grandchildren, Tesa Harley, Tyla Moser, Tana Moser, Chase Kogler, and Braden Kogler; two sisters, Sandy & Lynn Dietz, Karen & Rich Haff; two brothers, Timothy & Debbi Kogler, and Rex & Terri Kogler; siblings-in-law, Jacqueline & Bruce Bowen, Susan & Henry Benedict, and Robert Seelye; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life for Rodney & Jean will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Maria & Bob's home located at 9233 Wabasis Pointe Drive N.E., Greenville.
