Robert Zimmermann

Robert Paul Zimmermann, Sr. died February 16, 2022, age 93 in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born April 14,1928 in Detroit, MI, joining his parents Ralph E Zimmermann, Sr., Martha Hardeman Zimmermann, and brother, Ralph E Zimmermann, Jr. Bob was a proud graduate of University of Michigan and honored to be a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He dedicated his professional life to a family business of manufacturer representatives calling on US automotive companies with his father Zim, brother Ralph, son Rob and nephew Ralph. He is survived by the love of his life, Frances (Betty) Anklam Zimmermann; children, Robert (Elise Kietzer) Zimmermann, Jr., Susan (John) Whitaker and Nancy (Glenn Bennett) Zimmermann as well as many grand-children and great grandchildren. He found so much joy seeing his great-grandchildren growing. He enjoyed hunting, skeet, trap, golf and vacationing with his family. Bob was a member of Detroit Gun Club as well as Pere Marquette Rod and Gun Club. He was known for always having his camera, ready to capture photos his family still enjoys viewing. He loved his German heritage, enjoying much travel throughout his life. Bob and Betty raised their family in Birmingham and spent the majority of their retired years living in SC on Seabrook Island. His greatest joy was living his life with his beloved wife Betty. He will be missed for his humor and love.
