Robert L. Williams, age 80, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The son of Martha & Milo Williams, Sr., he was born on July 8, 1929 in Greenville.
On Valentines Day, Feb. 14, 1948, in Greenville, he married the former Anna Belle Broomfield. Together, they raised three children while he worked at the former Ranney Refrigerator Company/Northland Corporation for 44 years. Although Robert enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, mushrooming, and was a skilled euchre player, he found his greatest joy in time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Robert Williams; his parents; three sisters, Gertrude Race, Hattie Diepenhorst, and Rosetta Packard; three brothers, Charles Williams, Paul Williams, and Milo Williams, Jr.; and two infant great-grandchildren, Blake LaSarge and Angelica Williams.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Anna Belle Williams of Greenville; their children, Steven & Rose Williams of Greenville, Dennis & Judy Williams of Cedar Springs, and Lois & Dan Kinyon of Greenville; a brother, George Williams of Greenville; a brother-in-law, and three sisters-in-law, Bob & JoAnn Broomfield of Sidney, Kate Broomfield, and Pam Broomfield, both of Greenville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Saranac Cemetery with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.
