Robert “Bob” Samuel Vitale, age 83, passed away in his home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, following a far too brief battle with cancer. Bob was born in Charlotte, MI, on March 18, 1942. He spent much of his childhood assisting his father at their family’s furniture store in Charlotte, MI, before moving to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1964, where he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He later returned to Michigan, where he made his home for the rest of his life. Bob was a vibrant and multifaceted man who lived life to the fullest. He was active and social, finding joy in boating, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and relaxing with a good cigar on the porch. More than anything, he cherished being present in the lives of those he loved. While some may have seen a tough exterior, those who truly knew Bob were fortunate to experience his warmth, humor, and generous spirit. His playful side often surprised and delighted, and he cared deeply for his family and friends, taking immense pride in both his loved ones and his Sicilian heritage. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore "Samuel" and Florence Vitale (Woodman); Brother, Mark Vitale; and sister, Linda Momany. He is survived by his loving companion of 40 years, Deb (formerly Emerson) Eno; son, Colin (Laura) Vitale; daughter, Chandra Vitale; honorary stepsons, Eron (Carrie) Eno and Eric (Miranda Revere) Eno; grandchildren, Jacob “Jay” (Rebecca) Bryant, Jade (Chris Brown) Bryant, Miabella Vitale, Viana Vitale, Nolan Eno, Baley Eno, Brooke Eno, and Xara Revere; sister, Vicki (John) Bradford; honorary sisters Dawn (David) Wing and Drema (Scott Thomas) Emerson; and many loving nieces and nephews. Please join us as we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Bob Vitale at Tony M’s Restaurant & Banquet Center (3420 S Creyts Rd, Lansing, MI 48917) on Friday, July 18th, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. We invite all who knew and loved Bob to share their memories, stories, and photos on his memorial page. This tribute will stand as a celebration of the life he lived and the love he gave so freely. May it offer comfort and connection as we honor his memory and hold him close in our hearts. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, 616-452-3006.
