After a graceful and courageous 6-year battle with prostate cancer at the age of 73 Robert Dennis Teesdale (Bob) went home to be with the Lord on March 2nd, 2026. Bob peacefully transitioned while at his home in Rockford, Michigan. Bob never lost his smile and was at peace knowing God has a plan.
Bob was born in Sparta, Michigan on March 8, 1952. Bob graduated from Sparta High school in 1970. After High school Bob met Renae Pyard on a blind date and later married in 1973. Bob and Renae have spent the last 53 years building a life together with their sons Aaron and Justin.
Bob worked for Dean Boiler for 38 years as a service technician and for the last couple of years he was in the office scheduling the services before he retired. Bob created lifelong friendships throughout his time at Dean Boiler.
Bob loved to hunt in the fall and looked forward to his annual hunting trip. He also liked to spend as much time out golfing as he could. Another yearly trip Bob attended was his annual golf trip with the Dean Boiler golfers and friends. After Retirement you could find Bob out in his shop making pens, rings, and any other trinket he could create.
Bob also devoted his time to the children’s ministry at City Church Rockford for the last 16 years. During his time at City Church is where Bob was transformed to MR BOB. City Church became family to MR BOB. On Sunday you would find MR BOB lighting up the hallway of City Church with his big smile, welcoming families as they walked in. MR BOB also created a lunch date with kids that saved up enough City bucks from learning bible verses and helping each other in class. As the kids earned enough City bucks they could go to lunch with MR BOB and even pick out the restaurant. MR BOB loved spending his time every Sunday helping kids of all ages and adults get to know Jesus.
Bob was gentle, kind, selfless, hardworking, understanding, patient, and charming. Those who had the opportunity to be around him and interact with him I am sure were touched by his demeanor. We will miss Papa, his big smile and kindness.
Bob is survived by his wife Renae, their sons Aaron and Justin and Justin’s wife Avory; grandchildren Lilly, Oliver, Zyla and Diem, brother Ron and his wife Betty Teesdale, Sisters Sandy Dewitt and Janet Deboer and her husband David. Also, several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Freeman Teesdale and Mother Lillian Teesdale (Patton). brother Thomas and his wife Sherry Teesdale and Brother-in-law Kenneth Dewitt.
