Robert Raymond Schild, age 84, of Allegan, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. The son of Harold & Regina (Marciniak) Schild, he was born on December 21, 1932 in Hastings. A committal service with full military honors will be held at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 4100 Clyde Park Ave S.W., Wyoming, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Robert was preceded in passing by his lovely wife of over 50 years, Lucille "Lucy" (Levandoski) Schild. She went home to the Lord in February 2011. He is survived by his two children, Kevin Schild, and Pamela (Michael) Martin; three grandchildren, Austin Schild, Bobbi Salazar (Kiko), and Skye (Katie) Musk; as well five great grandchildren, he loved when his grandchildren came to visit him. Lastly he leaves behind his Chihuahua dog, "Gringo" who brought him great companionship. Robert was a proud US Navy veteran who was stationed in Hawaii during the Korean War. His favorite things to do were spending time at his cottage home on a small lake, listening to country music, cooking, visiting with his neighbors, and shopping for food. He loved to tell corny jokes and small or long stories, he was a bit of a jokester in his own funny ways. He will be dearly missed, but we have so many great memories of a unique, funny and simple man.Honoring his wishes burial will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
