Robert Newton

Robert Duane Newton, age 57, of Sunfield, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, at McClaren Greater Lansing Hospital in Lansing. The son of Francis & Barbara (Mayes) Newton, he was born on November 10, 1958 inHastings. Robert worked maintenance for Speedway convenience stores for 17 years, retiring in 2009. he has been retired since 2009. He enjoyed riding his Harley and was an avid sports fan, but found his greatest joy in spending time with his family... especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alayna; and his father, Francis Newton. Surviving are his mother, Barbara Newton of Greenville; his wife, Karen Newton of Sunfield; his children, Shanna & Mark Ferguson of Pewamo, Ryan Newton of Sunfield, Nicole & Evan Freeman of Dewitt, Hayley Newton of Lyons, Crystal Newton of Sunfield, and Christopher & Tori Newton of Sunfield; four brothers, Doug & Caryn Love, Gary & Janice Newton, Terry & Theresa Newton, and Kevin Newton; a sister-in-law, Sandy Davis: eighteen grandchildren, Jasmine, Sierra, Skylar, Joslin, Nevaeh, Shaylynn, Adalynn, Anna, Hope, Adrian, Harmony, Jaden, Abriana, Izaac, Bridget, Alex, Cameron, and Emily.
