Robert J. Mayer, age 60 of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital, in Grand Rapids after a short illness. The son of John & Dorthea (Hannenberg) Mayer, he was born on April 18, 1963 in Howell.
On August 13, 2016, in their back yard in Sheridan, he married Valerie Lynn Corl. Robert worked as a nursing aid for many years, and enjoyed helping others. He also enjoyed bowling and hunting.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, John Mayer.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Mayer; his mother, Dorthea Blankstrom; four children, Charles Mayer, Christeenia Mayer, Jennifer Sparks, and Alex Pless; one sister, Kathy Huntly; and three grandchildren, Kiara Apps, Kaiden Sparks, and Malachai Sparks.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, 616-754-5638.
