Robert Hansen

Robert W. Hansen, age 96, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022. He was born on May 18, 1926, in Chicago, to John & Loretta Hansen. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Hansen; a son, John Fields Hansen; brothers, Edward and Allan; parents, John and Loretta; and son-in-law, James Boerman. Survivors include his children, Helen A. Parker, Eric J. (Helen) Hansen, and Lisa M. Boerman; grandchildren, John R. (Rose) Hansen, Joshua D. (Melissa) Hansen, Aaron D. (Pamela) Parker, Michael C. (Elizabeth) Boerman, Erika M. (Jason) Boerman; great grandchildren, Campbell Q., Reese I., Mari N., and Primrose A. Robert graduated from Calvin College where he and Mary met. He worked in property insurance finishing his career as a property manager at the US Government Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Robert trained in the U.S. Navy as an aerial photographer. In 2018 he was honored to be a part of the Talons Out honor flight to DC. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 12-3 pm at Church of the Servant 3835 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids.
