Robert W. Chesebro, age 87, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Foster's Caledonia AFC Home. The son of L.D. & Anna (Ziska) Chesebro, he was born on April 19, 1927 in Cadillac.
Bob was a proud Marine that fought during World War II. He was an avid hunter and loved going fishing in northern Michigan. He spent many years as a realtor in Grand Rapids. He was cherished by many for his quick wit and many stories told to anyone who would listen. Bob also loved his manhattans, so in honor of him please raise a glass to him.
He was preceded in death by his father L.D., mother Anna and aunt Mary Ziska. Survived by his loving wife Lynn Chesebro; his children, Deb (Ed) Masselink, Tom (Karie) Chesebro, Leslie Chesebro, John Bensted, Amy (Dan) Jaracz; his sister Sally (Larry) Veeder; 17 grand children, 14 great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Foster's for the wonderful care of Bob and all their support. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Foster's Caledonia AFC Home, 1706 68th St. Caledonia, MI 49316. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
