Mr. Robert Lee Beechler, age 67, of rural Sheridan, passed away Friday afternoon, April 1, 2011 in the emergency room of Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville.
The son of Floyd & Ena (Brown) Beechler, he was born on July 2, 1943 in Carson City. On August 2, 1974, in Greenville, he married Marjorie Irene Sipperley.
Bob retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company where he worked as a repairman and was a member of UAW Local 137. In his younger days he enjoyed league bowling, playing softball, hunting, and especially fishing. A skilled woodworker, he also enjoyed cutting wood, playing cards, and an occasional trip to the casino.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred Beechler and Gerald Beechler; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Beechler and Margaret Beechler; a brother-in-law, Richard Blackrick; a nephew, Donald Beechler; and his mother-in-law, Ava Sipperley.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Marjorie Beechler of Sheridan; a brother, Bruce Beechler of Alma; a sister, Yolando Blackrick of Florida; his nieces and nephews, Bonnie, Cindy, DeDe, LeAnn, Christopher, Craig, Charles, Kenneth, Mark, Steven, and Kevin; his father-in-law, Norris J. Sipperley of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Jackie & Roger Copeland of Greenville; Marjories nephews, Rick Copeland, and Kenneth & Judy Copeland; grand nephew and nieces, Christopher, Mykalia, and Kendra; and his card playing buddys and many other special friends.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where private funeral services will be held on Wednesday. The Rev. Tom Turner, pastor of Jesus Non-Denominational Church will officiate and burial will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
