Richard Eugene Miller, age 95, of Newaygo, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. He was born December 7, 1928, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Truman and Florence (Swanson) Miller. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, traveling, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include his four sons, John (fiancé, Cathy Horner), Eugene, Terry (Carmen), and Todd Miller; seven grandchildren, Carl (Shawn) Miller, Julie (Stephen) Beir, Crystal Harvatich, Daniel (Lisa Westcomb) Miller, Brandon (Kayleigh) Miller, Angel See, and Lace (Rasheed Aska) Miller; five great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Betty Lou (Dick) Johnson) and his wife in the eyes of the Lord, Gail Reed.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son, Ted; his parents, Truman and Florence.
Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Pennington officiating followed by Military Honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps and the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will take place at a later date at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery in Walker, MI, with his wife, Joyce.
