Richard P. Hooker, Sr., age 65, of Lakeview, formerly of Greenville, passed away very peacefully late Friday evening, Sept. 16, 2005, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice, at Metron of Belding. The son of Louis Edward & June Clarita (Hunt) Hooker, he was born on March 28, 1940 in Grand Rapids. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his children, Richard Patrick Jr. & Doris Hooker of Hazel Green Alabama, Bradi Lyne Hooker of Belding, and Jennifer Hooker of Stanton; brothers and sisters, David L. & Patsy Hooker of Grand Rapids, Paul E. & Pamela Hooker of Allegan, John D. & Mary Jo Hooker of Harriman, Tenn., Jacqueline & William Snyder of Kentwood, JoAnne King of Greenville, Judith & Gerry Root of Lakeview, Patricia & Fred Parm of Grand Rapids, and Barbara Vertz of Greenville; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Richards wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at the NCO Club, 1200 44th St., Wyoming (located behind the Armory).
