Richard J. Angstman "Ricker", age 81, of Gowen, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at his home under the care of his family and Corewell Health Hospice.
The son of Edward & Shirley (Corder) Angstman, he was born on October 26, 1942 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On January 13, 1998, he married Debra Deason in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Richard served honorably during the Vietnam War era and attained the rank of Airman Second Class. While in service, he attended Indiana State University and was taught to be an interpreter. Once his service concluded, he continued his education by obtaining a bachelor's degree at Grand Valley State University.
Richard dedicated himself to his children and family. He loved to support U of M Football and could often be found out playing golf or gambling while enjoying one of his cigars. Ricker grew to have a special place in his heart for the pets he shared with Debi, which includes their dog Zeke and their four cats; Zelda, Zimon, Nemoy, & Ziva.
Ricker was also the proud owner of three bars during his life, Ricker's Bar, Grant Tavern, and The Web Bar. Upon retiring, he decided to continue working at Scott Lake Golf & Practice Center in Comstock Park, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Shirley; and two sisters, Marlene Casey & Mary Lynn Thompson.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Debra (Deason) Angstman; his children, Rick (Chris) Angstman & Jill Angstman-Stehower; 6 grandchildren, Emery, Zoe, Ryleigh, Kennedy, Ainsley, & Quinlyn; 2 great-grandchildren, Alva & Leslie; his sister, Sue (Carl) Wolters; his brother, John (Theresa) Angstman; siblings-in-law, Tom (Sue) Deason & Diane Johnson; and many, many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life held for Richard on Saturday, June 16th 2024 at 1:00 P.M. located at Glenn Hill Post 287 American Legion.
