Renee Timmer

Renee Timmer, age 89, gracefully journeyed to eternal rest on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born on December 26, 1934 in Grand Haven, MI to Harry & Ella Young. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories. She dedicated her life to nurturing and raising six remarkable daughters, instilling in them values of kindness, integrity, and determination. Her role as a mother was her greatest joy and accomplishment, shaping the lives of her children in profound ways. Beyond her role as a devoted mother, Renee embraced life with a zest for adventure. An avid sightseer, she embarked on many journeys, discovering the beauty and wonder of the world. In quieter moments, she found solace in her hobbies of crafting, solving word searches, and building her collection of lighthouses. Renee was a cherished member of the Rose Park Reformed Church community, where her faith and compassion touched the lives of many. In recent years, she attended the First Presbyterian Church of Ocala, Florida with her husband. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Renee is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Dawn Sterken. She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Robert Timmer, their daughters Elly & Dave Zeerip of Holland, MI, Cindy & Arlan Meekhof of Zeeland, MI, Brenda & Mike Nykamp of Barryton, KS, Arlene & Steve Wolters of Holland, MI, and Faye Timmer & Sally Collins of Englewood, NJ; a son-in-law, Greg Sterken; and her siblings-in-law, Lloyd & Elaine Timmer and Jean Alverson. Renee's legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, siblings-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Though she may have departed this world, Renee's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
