Rebecca Bettys

Rebecca Sue Bettys, age 69, of Cedar Springs, passed away Tuesday morning, September 14, 2021 at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Samuel Max & Jeannette (Zuidema) Waldron, she was born on April 29, 1952 in Grand Rapids. Becky had worked as a office manager for Animal Care Hospital for over twenty years. Becky enjoyed her flower garden, camping, being a grandmother and had a deep love for her animals. On August 27, 1977, in Cedar Springs, she married James Terry Bettys and together they enjoyed 44 years of marriage and raised two sons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Jeannette Waldron. Surviving are her husband, Jim Bettys of Cedar Springs; their sons, Jason Glen Bettys & Justine Bishop of Cedar Springs, and Joshua Alan Bettys & Darla Bennett of Cedar Springs; three grandchildren, Joshua Bettys, Savanna Jo Bettys, and Madilynn Elizabeth Bettys; two brothers, Ronald & Pat Pleune and Scott & Deb Waldron; lifelong friend, Pam Bennink; and several nieces and nephews. Honoring Becky's wishes, cremation will take place and a private interment service will be held at a later date. Instead of flowers, Becky would have appreciated contributions in her memory to Spectrum Health Hospice and St. Charles Catholic Church of Greenville.
