It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of a creative spirit, a loving mother, and a thoughtful sister, Rebecah Ann Benjamin, known affectionately as Becky. Born on June 26, 1952, in Grand Rapids Charter Township. Rebecah had a zest for life that was contagious. Her ability to find joy and humor in the everyday was second only to her love for her family. Her smart mind, coupled with her creativity, allowed her to lead an extraordinary life.
Rebecah was a stellar computer programmer, having spent years showcasing her skills in the accounting field for Grip on Tools Wayland, MI. Despite retiring in 2003, her love for computers remained unabated. She channeled her creativity into the digital world, running a website for Sims game enthusiasts where they could download and upload different things for the game. This passion also extended to her family, where her love for her children and grandchildren was evident in every action. Every conversation with her was memorable, and her unique perspective on life was a source of inspiration. As Henry Ford once said, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got." Rebecah lived by this principle, never afraid to innovate or explore new ideas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Helen Burns; and a brother, Robert Burns.
Surviving Rebecah are her daughters, Stephanie (Ricky) McCluskey, Melissa (Ryan) O'Callaghan, and Lisa (Frank) Bristol; a son, Carl Wise; her beloved grandchildren, Brian Jr, Aubree Sloan, Kevin (Marcela) Wise, Ashley Wise, Ethan Wise, and Michael Wise; her step-grandchildren, Damien Bristol, and Brooke Bristol; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cathy (Rich) Rush, and Sherry (Lynn) Buckley; and many nieces and nephews.
Rebecah was a beacon of light in the lives of those around her, with a heart full of love and a mind brimming with creativity. Even though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life, her accomplishments, and the unyielding love she showed us all.
