Quinn Martinez

September 14, 1967 — March 7, 2021

Quinn Brian Martinez, 53, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 7th, 2021. Quinn was preceded in death by his parents, Hipolito and Rose Martinez, sister in-law, Queen Martinez, and nephews, Johnny (Mikey) Cross and Kayn Sato. Quinn is survived by his children, Christopher (Moriah) Martinez and his Lil Mamas Catherine Martinez; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Amelia, Juliana, Carter, Mya, and Dominic; his siblings, Sylvia Martinez, Hipolito (Kat) Martinez, Ida Cross, Anthony Martinez, Y'vonne (Patrick) Mooney, and Bruno Martinez; the mothers of his children, Earnette Wrancher and Valerie Vantatenhove; and dozens of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends. Quinn was a loving father and grandfather and a trusted friend who was always willing to help others. Quinn always had the best stories to tell and a smile on his face. While Quinn lived a humble life, his style was truly unique; he never went far without his signature leather backpack. An avid sports fan, his love for the Lions and U of M often led to him passionately shouting at the tv, but through all of their failures, his loyalty remained. Quinn was a gifted artist who continued drawing and sketching to hone his craft, creating his own logo, designs, and even tattoos. Quinn was a man of strength, determination, character, and resilience. He had a wild spirit, a gentle heart, and a powerful mind. We are all lucky to have had Quinn in our lives and not one single day will pass where he is not sorely missed. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on April 17th, 2021, at the pavilion at Richmond Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 12pm-5:30pm. Please join us in celebrating the life and memory of Quinn Martinez. The outpouring of love and support from friends and family was mind blowing, and we cannot thank you all enough. It really does take a village, and Quinn had one of the best. A special thank you to Michigan Cremation and Funeral Care for helping us to navigate this difficult process with grace and the dignity that Quinn deserved. Your tact and professionalism speaks volumes and we are thankful that we chose you to help us put Quinn to rest. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
