Priscilla Gowell

Priscilla Ann Gowell, 78, went to be with God on Thursday, June 7, 2018. She and her husband, Max Gowell, who survives her, shared everything: concerts, eating out, traveling to Australia, and a quirky sense of humor for 45 years. She had already battled many health issues when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 25 years ago. Every ounce of strength she had was put into fighting MS. Max drove her to physical therapy and treatments, sitting by the pool, as she swam laps to strengthen her body. Her determination to keep moving, defeating MS, was well known and she did it! The medical community was familiar to Pris as she had worked with many healthcare providers over decades, bringing her quick wit with her. Among others, she worked at Ferguson Hospital, Blodgett Hospital and the office of Dr. Kirk Agerson. Also surving are her adoptive parents Alex & Arloa Hoeker of Norton Shores; sister, Sue Hermanson of AL; brother, Gregory & Muanenn Hoeker of Tacoma, WA; and sister-in-law, Sharon Hoeker of Ann Arbor. Her brother, Charles Hoeker preceded her in death. Missing her will be her friends, Norma Chapman and Beckie Southwell, who has been her caretaker, advocate, and friend.
