Mrs. Margaret Pauline "Polly" Larsen, age 86, formerly of Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, June 25, 2008 at Community Hospital & Wellness Center in Bryan, Ohio. The daughter of Charles & Mable (Sickles) Kain, she was born on March 25, 1922 in Coral, Michigan.
She married Russell Larsen on April 11, 1942, at Sand Lake, and together they designed and built their first home and later in life enjoyed traveling. A graduate of the LaParent Academy of Beauty, Polly owned and operated Pollys Beauty Shop in downtown Greenville for over 40 years. In addition, she was a member of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Board of Directors, the Montcalm Community College Advisory Board, as well as the Craft and Culture Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Randy Larsen; and brothers Don, Vernard, and Thomas Kain. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Russell Larsen of Bryan, Ohio; their children, Kathy & Bill Small of Defiance, Ohio; and Patrick & Vickie Larsen of Greenville; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008 from the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, Michigan with the Rev. Ken Harger, pastor of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association or the Greenville Area Community Foundation are available.
