Phyllis L. (Walker) Oyler, age 80, of Lansing and formerly of Carson City, died Friday morning, February 21, 2025 at University of Michigan Health in Lansing. The daughter of Rufus Earl & Dorothy Darlene (Beck) Walker, she was born February 12, 1945 in Albion.
On July 16, 1966, in Springport, Michigan, she married Larry Lee Oyler, and together they enjoyed thirty-three years of marriage and raised four children before his death in 1999.
Phyllis enjoyed watching The Price is Right and doing puzzle books, however, her greatest joy was her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; her brother, Milford “Winkie” Walker; a grandson, Nicholas Oyler; and a son-in-law, Cary Hall. Surviving are her four children, Kris Hall of Carson City, Kevin Oyler of Lansing, Karl Oyler of Carson City, and William & Terri Oyler of Crystal; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary & Leonard Wilson of Albion, and Beverly & Al Huffman of Lake Odessa; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Oyler and Donna Merritt; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Cornerstone Worship Center, 9190 M-46, Vestaburg, where memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday. The Rev. Don Wolf, pastor of Cornerstone Worship Center, will officiate and a luncheon will follow the ceremony.
