Miss Phyllis Joan Martin, age 73, of rural Stanton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 at Spectrum Health United Memorial-Kelsey Campus, Lakeview. The daughter of Richard P.J. & Reva Mae (Rasmussen) Martin, she was born on Dec. 5, 1932 in Pine Township, Montcalm County. Phyllis had attended school at Langston, enjoyed crocheting, and was a life long member of Hope Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Martin on July 26, 1985; her mother, Reva Martin on June 12, 2001; a sister, Elenore Munger; a brother, Charles Martin; a brother-in-law, Glenn Munger; and a nephew, Rodney Munger.
Surviving are two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Roger & Loris Martin of Stanton, Milton & Aleta Martin of Lakeview, and Clara Martin of Gowen; many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and several cousins.
Private family services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at Riverside Cemetery, Langston, with the Rev. Alsen Wenzel officiating. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Phyllis memory to Hope Lutheran Church.
