Peter Westveer

Westveer, Peter W. Peter Wesley Westveer , 91 years, of Standale, Mi passed away on June 18, 2014. Peter was preceded in death by his beloved Katherine in 1977, and is survived by his second wife, Shirley J. Westveer and lovingly remembered by his daughters Kathy (Roger) Kerkstra and Cindra (Bradley) Ochsankehl, his grandchildren Andrew Kerkstra , Cassidy and Chrystina Ochsankehl, one great grandchild Travis Kerkstra and sister Dorothy Holtrop. Born in Moddersville, Mi on February 21, 1923, Pete was one of 6 children born to the late John and Anna Westveer. Pete graduated from Lake City High School, enlisted in the Army serving in WWII from 1943-1946 originally as a Glider Pilot then as part of the Field Artillery. He was extremely proud of having served his country. A private memorial service has already taken place and his final resting place is at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids, MI. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
