Peter L. Borstler, Sr., age 58, of Lincoln Lake, passed away Friday afternoon, May 20, 2011 at his home under the loving care of his family. The son of Betty (Badge) and Robert Borstler, he was born on March 17, 1953 in Lakeview and was raised by his grandparents, George & Hattie Badge, on the family farm near Six Lakes.
Pete had worked at Grand Rapids Diecast, as well as Michigan Wheel and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Eagles. He was a NASCAR fan, enjoyed mushrooming, feeding and watching his birds and squirrels, and watching The Price Is Right.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Borstler; his mother, Betty Beemer; a brother, Richard Dick Borstler; and his step-father, Clarence Bug Beemer.
Surviving are his children, Peter L. & Tierza Borstler, Jr. of Sheridan, and Michelle & Mike Brodock of Gowen; seven grandchildren, Melissa Borstler & Mike Mejia, Dakota, Bryan, Rae Anne, and Kaidence Borstler, and Tristan and Trenton Brodock; seven step-grandchildren; sisters, Suzanne & Bruce Beck of Gowen, Cindy & Dennis Bevis of Alabama, Tammy & Ernie Jensen of Gowen; a brother, Thomas & Brenda Beemer of Coral; a sister-in-law, Theresa Borstler of Coral; his girlfriend, Nancy TenEyck; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pastor Tom Turner of Jesus Non-Denominational Church will officiate and burial will follow at Spencer Mills Cemetery near Lincoln Lake.
