Penny Jane Pifer, age 75, of Sand Lake, Michigan, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026 at her home.

The daughter of Gerald Thomas & Walpruga Gertrude (Hoeck) Durfee, she was born on Janaury 31, 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Penny had worked as a kitchen aide for Gulf Breeze Public Schools in Florida.

Surviving are her daughter, Tammy Seymour of Sparta; a granddaughter, Hailey Seymour; two great-grandsons, Keagan and Liam; a sister, Susan Durfee of Wayland; a sister-in-law, Christine Bartnick; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Jason & April Kelley for their special friendship to Penny.
