Peggy Lee (Salters) Proctor, age 74, of Elsie, Michigan, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 4, 2024. She was born September 8, 1949, in St. Johns, Michigan, to the late Floyd and Caroline (Pohl) Salters.
Peggy was a lifelong hairdresser. She always referred to her clients as her ladies. Peggy had a personality that was both caring and fun and she was never short of helpful advice. Her home always was the place where people wanted to visit; whether it be for some counsel, some food or the U of M football games that she loved. She loved her boyfriend Mike, siblings more than they knew, her kids she would do anything for, and her grandkids who she just adored. If you let her, she was your biggest cheerleader and your most honest, call you out person. She loved gardening (in later years picking other’s gardens clean), canning and teaching people how to can. No one can forget how her outfits always matched from head to toe, whether it be highlighter yellow or maize and blue. She was the early bird to get things done and loved telling what she had done before noon. She could run circles around most people half her age. She loved going to the gym and was stronger than most although she didn’t really know it. She had a way with the young and the old; I’m not sure how many of her ’ladies’ she cared for over the years; taking meals and checking on people. Her heart was so big. Her smile and energy were contagious and we will all miss her dearly.
She is survived by her caring and loving partner, Mike Dolan; her three children, Dana (Joe) Alissandrello, Bradley (Hugo) Pattison, and Brandon (Tanya) Pattison and their three children, Raven, Scout, and Taya; step-daughter, Trisha (Daniel) Phipps; and siblings Cathy Brya-Rotta, Rick Vorase, and Kim Roy.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Jarold Proctor; her parents, Floyd Salters and Caroline Mueller; and brother, Jerome Salters.
Per Peggy’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services. A celebration of life is being planned and details will be announced at a later date when they become available.
