Patty Bare

Patty (Ludwig) Bare, age 67, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Patty was born May 12, 1948 in Kalamazoo, to Donald and Myrtle (Reil) Ludwig. She retired from JCPenney after many years. Patty was very involved with her daughter's softball, and cherished the precious time she spent with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader as well as a wonderful gardener. Her gardens were absolutely beautiful and she loved spending her free time caring for them. Because she was an organ donor, someone else will be able to enjoy the beauty of nature. Patty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Bare" (Wayne) on Aug.15, 2015. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Aug. 21, 2015. Surviving her is daughter, Melissa; grandchildren, Sophia and Donte; sisters, Dianne (Bill) Kiewiet and Gail (Dave) Bratt, as well as her friend of over 60 years, Kitty (Howard) Stanchfield; along with many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Ambrose Parish Activity Center, 1628 East G Avenue, Parchment, MI 49004, with a visitation at 1:30pm with the service to follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, her sisters have set up an educational fund for Patty's two grandchildren at PNC. Contributions may be made to Dianne or Gail on their behalf. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
