Obituary

On June 1st, 2026, Patrick Mulkerns "Uncle Pat" passed away peacefully at home with his family in Evart, Michigan. Patrick was born May 10th, 1954, in Pennsylvania to John & Flora Mulkerns and big brother, John.

Patrick graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy Junior College in 1975 with plans to move forward with a military career but after a freak tennis ball accident that caused him to lose sight in his right eye, that all changed. His parents sensed his need for direction and as fate would have it, introduced him to Woody Ludwig (owner of Camp Bil-o-Wood) where he spent his first summer as a camp counselor. And the rest, as they say, is history. Camp Bil-o-wood was his passion for the next 50 years. His love for the outdoors and for helping others was born. He met the love of his life at Camp Bil-o-Wood, Chris, and with her they started their lives together.

From Hersey Michigan, Melwel Lodge, Kingston Ontario, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Tonopah, Nevada, he had a life well lived as a teacher, and school counselor and then finally moved back to Michigan where their lives together all began.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, John & Flora Mulkerns. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Christine; his two children, Elizabeth (Daniel) Campbell, and Seon (Beth) Mulkerns; his brother, John (Sharon) Mulkerns; four grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patrick impacted so many lives. We want to extend this invitation to share your memories, laughter, stories, and honor the love, kindness, and legacy that he left behind. Please join us in celebrating his beautiful life from 2-6 p.m. this coming Monday, June 8th at Sixth & Main (202 N. Main Street) in Evart, Michigan.
