Patricia Ann Silverthorne, age 68, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at her home following a brief illness. The daughter of Frederick & Ella (VanCleve) Wert, she was born on September 6, 1943 in Grand Rapids.
On July 1, 1972, in Greenville, she married Harry L. Silverthorne and together they enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage. Patricia owned Greenville Janitorial and was a long-time member of the Greenville Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses-East Congregation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Fred W. Silverthorne on October 4, 2001; and her siblings, Fred Wert Jr., Clarence Wert, Audrey Fifield, Madeline Sheldon, and Earl Wert.
Surviving are her husband, Harry Silverthorne of Greenville; her children, Randy Chase of Kent City and Jeff Chase of Greenville; three grandchildren, Kristy Chase and Joseph Chase, both of Grand Rapids, and Kaden Silverthorne of Greenville; three step-sons, Steven & Joette Silverthorne of Florida, David Silverthorne of Connecticut, and Jeff Silverthorne of Florida; her siblings, Virginia Robinson of Cedar Springs, David & Marilyn Wert of Grand Rapids, Beulah & Gary Chase of Kent City, and Darlene & Jerry Elder of Newaygo; siblings-in-law, Ethan & Virginia Silverthorne, Marjorie Ingersoll, Frances Merren, and Virginia & Bob Lincoln, all of Greenville; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. Honoring Patricias wishes, cremation will follow the viewing and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 915 Industrial Park Drive at the corner of M-57 East, Greenville. Instead of flowers, contributions for the familys wishes would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
