Patricia Hoffman

Patricia Ann (Durkee) Hoffman, 72, of Portage, died Oct. 15, 2020, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 25, 1948, in Adrian, Mich. She was the daughter of Frank Junior Durkee and Virginia Ruth (Miller) Durkee. She was a 1966 graduate of Addison High School and earned a nursing degree from Foote Hospital School of Nursing in Jackson. She married Bruce Hoffman on June 18, 1972, in Addison, and they were married for 43 years. She enjoyed antiquing, spending time at Lake Michigan and walking with friends. She was a devoted hospice nurse for many years, retiring in 2016. She is survived by two sons, Chris and his wife Kristal of Portage, and Tim of Portage; three grandchildren, Skylar, MaKayla and Rorey; two sisters, Kathy Savage of O'Fallon, Mo., and Judy Stanton of Lilburn, Ga.; and one brother, Dennis Durkee, of Victoria, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father in 1998, her mother in 2015 and her brother Tom in 2019. Services will be private. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
