Patricia "Kay" Farrow passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. Kay was born May 3, 1955 in Flint, MI to Richard C. Williams and Margie Dean King Williams in Flint Michigan. She graduated from Genesee High School in 1973 and moved to Big Rapids to continue her education Ferris State College. It was there that she met her future husband, Dan Farrow, at the Alibi. After they married, they returned back to Flint until 1984 when a job opportunity brought them back to Big Rapids.
Kay owned and operated TEMPS: Temporary Services, Inc. in Big Rapids until retiring in 2009. In addition to her "day job" at TEMPS, Kay was very passionate about the City of Big Rapids and was elected as City Commissioner in 1992. She was later elected as Mayor of Big Rapids and served until 1998 when she decided to turn in her gavel.
Kay is survived by her children, Donald (Barbie) Farrow and Tricia Alvey; grandchildren, Clayton and Paige Farrow, Addison and Avery Turner, Michael and Alexandra Alvey; siblings Ron (Linda) and Lewis "Rick" Kline, Richard (Lurena) and Don (Anna) Williams, Kathy (Garry) Davis and Carol Claburn; many nieces and nephews and her very special friends, Cindy Erbes and Nancy Weck.
The family would like to thank Corewell Health Hospice and The Comfort Home of Reed City for their support and care during her last days.
Per Kay's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date where we will listen to Bob Seger songs all night in her memory. Memorial contributions in Kay's name may be made to The Comfort Home of Reed City.
