Patricia J. Black, age 92, of Greenville, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Dewey & Mary (Misney) Burkhart, she was born on April 25, 1929 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. On January 26, 1950, in Greenville, she married Frank Black and they enjoyed nearly 41 years of marriage until Frank passed away on November 20, 1991.
Pat retired from the former Electrolux Home Products, had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and more recently attended First Baptist Church with her son. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting, as well as drives thru the countryside, walks along the Fred Meijer trail, and loved watching sunsets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Colleen Doty and Debra Witherell; and two step-children, Luana Waylse and Terry Caniff; a brother, Tom Burkhart; and two sisters, Laverne Eagle & Grace Ickes.
Surviving are a son, Bryan Black; two daughters, Pamela Keene, and Connie & Dan Kent; two brothers, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, 401 S. Franklin Street at the corner W. Washington Street (M-57), Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Rev. Paul E. Dickson, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville.
