Opal Beisiegel

June 14, 1947 — April 11, 2024

Opal Mae Beisiegel, age 76, of Bitely, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, April 11, 2024. She was born June 14, 1947, in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Monte and Opal (Campbell) Owens. Opal grew up with her brother, Monte, sister, Rose, half-brother, Joe, and half-sister, Loretha. She graduated from Grandville High School with the class of 1965, and went on to work a variety of jobs, but she particularly loved her time working for Ryder Commercial Truck as a driver. At the age of 10, Opal began to appreciate that there is a loving creator and at the age of 14 she dedicated her life to Jehovah and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She continued to serve her creator until she fell asleep in death. Opal, an extraordinary artist, possessed a diverse range of interests spanning from taxidermy to intricate needlework. With a remarkable ability to translate what she saw in her mind into reality, she poured her whole heart into her creations. As a woman she was delicate and feminine. On the other hand she could hold her own in a man’s world. She loved motorcycles, semi trucks, and everything to do with fishing including making fishing lures. If asked she would say "I am just a girl who loves horses." Opal married Earl Gray Beisiegel on May 14, 1994, in Fremont Michigan. For over 28 years, she and her husband, Earl, enjoyed their one-of-a-kind home that they created together, adorned with treasures from the past, showcasing her love of vintage glassware, china, coffee pots, cooking, and fishing tackle boxes. She enjoyed nature to the fullest, so-much-so that she masterfully incorporated it into every square inch of her home. Opal was primarily recognized for her profound affection for others, particularly those in need or experiencing illness. Possessing a unique talent for attentive and nonjudgmental listening, she effortlessly created an atmosphere of comfort and affection, making individuals feel valued and accepted. Her innate ability to discern the right words to offer provided solace to many, enriching their lives with her spontaneous and heartfelt care. Opal will be missed and remembered by her husband, Earl; siblings, Rose (Bob) Howell, Monte Owens, and Loretha Smith; stepchildren, Kelli (Tracy) Beatty, Heather Rodriguez, Brook Schut (Scott), and Jennifer (Nick) Hanline; 12 Grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, Dustin, Samantha, Lena, Katelyn (Spencer), Justin, Crystal (Jeff), Bethany (Casey), Nico (Jennifer), Brittani (James) and Lauren; and 15 great-grandchildren, Mason, Easton, Colette, Eli, Grayson, Tristin, Ava, Tressa, Cali, Kendall, Madison, Grace, Ari, Grayson, and Jameson.
